Art isn’t supposed to be funny. A4 Sounds are running a hilarious exhibition in a shopping mall in Tuam from the 21st – 28th of August. Browse among the many useless and offensive products brought to you by the good folk at A4 CORP, marvel at the twee elevator music and irritating infomercials.

Myself and many other electronic musician mates have stretched our Muzak muscles for this one.

niamh de barra – cusp ep launch

I’ll be singing in a choir put together by Niamh de Barra (formerly Scurvy Lass). It’s for her EP launch at the Joinery Gallery, from 4-7pm this Sunday.

A Second Square to None label-mate, Niamh’s music uses cello, voice and live electronics, often with looping structures that mean you get to see the song emerge slowly- a nice insight into her artistic process. Minimalism-influenced electronic neo-folkish with tinges of early music and pulsing, ambient soundscapes.
